Username, display name, and profile details

Truth Social requires a unique username during account creation. The username begins with @ and serves as the account’s stable profile identifier.

It is separate from the display name, which appears more prominently and can be edited along with the avatar, banner, bio, location, and website.

Search with the username whenever it is known. A display name can be shared by unrelated accounts, and small differences in punctuation may indicate an impersonator.

What the Truth Social lookup can show

Our lookup checks the supplied handle and returns the public profile match and supported public signals associated with it. These may include the display name, avatar, bio, website, public posting context, and direct profile address.

The lookup does not reveal an email address, telephone number, password, login sessions, private messages, hidden settings, or restricted follower data.

Some follower and following lists may be limited when viewed from another person’s profile.

Finding accounts and searching their posts

Truth Social’s Discover tab can search for users, profiles, groups, topics, and current conversations. Entering an exact @username is more precise than searching a common display name.

Account search should not be confused with Profile Search. Once a profile is open, Profile Search finds words or phrases inside that user’s original Truths.

It does not include ReTruths. A username lookup finds the account; Profile Search filters content already posted by that account.

How to assess an account’s authenticity

Confirm the exact username, inspect the website listed in the profile, and look for reciprocal links from an official domain or established account.

Posting history, consistent branding, and known public statements can support the match, but none should be used alone. Truth Social uses a red check for certain accounts it recognizes as genuine.

Verification is useful, but still combine it with independent confirmation before sending money, sharing documents, or acting on instructions.

Public profiles, blocking, and private messages

Information deliberately placed on a public profile can be visible through account search and direct profile links. Muting removes another user’s content from the muting account’s home feed but does not stop profile viewing.

Blocking is stronger and prevents the blocked account from searching, viewing, or interacting with the blocker’s account.

Direct messages are separate from public profiles and cannot be accessed by a username lookup.

Truth Social lookup: the practical takeaway

Use the exact @username and combine the public result with trusted external context. Public profile data can support identification, but it does not expose private messages or prove every claim made by the account owner.
