How to check a BeReal username

01

Enter the exact ID

Keep any periods, digits, domains, and prefixes that belong to the identifier.

02

Review the public profile

Check the URL and visible signals without treating missing data as proof.

03

Verify the context

Confirm the match through an official site, reciprocal link, or known channel.

A BeReal username lookup checks the unique handle shown above a user’s posts and on their profile. It can help locate the current account reference, but it does not unlock BeReal posts, Memories, Pins, friend lists, or other content limited by audience settings.

Use the current unique username or a newly generated sharing link and treat a public match as account-level evidence, not proof of identity.

BeReal username and full name are different

Every BeReal username is unique. The full name is a separate field designed to help friends recognize the person, and multiple accounts can use the same or similar full names.

BeReal allows users to change their usernames. A submitted change takes effect after the next BeReal notification and the user’s subsequent post.

A previously saved username may therefore become outdated without any notification being sent to friends.

What the BeReal lookup can confirm

Our lookup checks the entered username for a supported public account match and surfaces public identifiers available for verification. It is useful when you have a handle from a sharing link, another social profile, or a conversation.

A lookup result does not provide access to private BeReal posts, Memories, group chats, contact data, phone numbers, or friend-only Pins.

Recommended users expose only selected profile information; their BeReals and Memories are not included in recommendations.

How people are found inside BeReal

Users can search for one another by username from the friends area. Discovery may also happen through mutual friends, recommendations, shared profile links, or optional contact matching.

RealPeople and RealBrands can be found by entering either their name or username in BeReal’s search bar.

If an exact username does not produce the expected account, ask for a fresh profile link. The handle may have changed, the spelling may be wrong, or blocking may prevent visibility.

How to verify a BeReal profile

Compare the username, full name, profile picture, mutual-friend context, and source of the shared link. A familiar photo or name alone is not enough to prove account ownership.

For a personal contact, request confirmation through a channel you already know. For a brand, follow the BeReal link from its official website or established social account.

Do not expect a public lookup to retrieve private photos, reaction history, or friend-only posts.

Phone discovery, audiences, and blocking

BeReal users can turn off Find me by my phone number. This stops phone-based discovery and related recommendations, but the user may still be found through mutual friends or exact username search.

Post visibility is controlled separately. Users can share with friends or include friends of friends, while Pins are visible only to BeReal friends.

A blocked user cannot view the blocker’s profile information, posts, or reactions and is not notified about the block.

BeReal lookup: the practical takeaway

Use the current unique username or a fresh sharing link. Expect posts and relationship data to remain governed by friend, audience, recommendation, and blocking controls.

FAQ

BeReal lookup questions

Is a BeReal username unique?

Yes. The username is unique to the account. The full name is a separate, non-unique field.

Can a BeReal username change?

Yes. A change becomes effective after the next notification and the account’s subsequent BeReal post.

Can I find someone by phone number?

Phone discovery depends on contact matching and the user’s privacy choice.

Does disabling phone discovery hide the username?

No. The account may still be found through mutual friends or username search.

Can a lookup show Memories or Pins?

No. Memories are private account content, and Pins are visible only to friends.

Why can’t I see a profile I found before?

The username may have changed, the account may have been removed, or the user may have blocked the searching account.
